Carpet Cleaners Greenwich Service Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of carpet, upholstery and related cleaning services by Carpet Cleaners Greenwich to residential and commercial customers. By making a booking, you agree that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms and Conditions and that you are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below:

Customer means the person, company or organisation requesting services from Carpet Cleaners Greenwich.

Services means carpet, rug, upholstery, mattress, curtain and related cleaning services, and any additional services agreed in writing.

Premises means the property or location where the Services are to be carried out.

Technician means an operative or subcontractor engaged by Carpet Cleaners Greenwich to perform the Services.

Agreement means the contract between Carpet Cleaners Greenwich and the Customer incorporating these Terms and Conditions and any confirmed booking details.

2. Scope of Services

Carpet Cleaners Greenwich provides professional cleaning services within its usual operating service area, which includes Greenwich and surrounding locations. Availability may vary by postcode and date. Certain services may not be available in all areas.

The specific Services to be provided will be as described at the time of booking and confirmed in your booking confirmation. Any additional work requested on site is subject to technician availability, feasibility, and may incur additional charges which must be agreed before commencement.

3. Booking Process

3.1 Bookings may be made by the Customer via the booking channels made available by Carpet Cleaners Greenwich from time to time. By placing a booking, you warrant that the information provided is accurate, complete and not misleading.

3.2 All bookings are subject to availability and are not confirmed until you receive a booking confirmation specifying the date, approximate time window, service description and price estimate where applicable.

3.3 Time slots are approximate. While Carpet Cleaners Greenwich aims to attend within the agreed window, circumstances such as traffic, earlier jobs overrunning, or adverse weather may cause delays. In such cases, reasonable efforts will be made to notify the Customer and agree a revised time or alternative date if necessary.

3.4 The Customer must ensure that access details, parking information and any access codes are provided in advance. Where paid parking is required, the Customer is responsible for the cost unless agreed otherwise in advance.

3.5 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich reserves the right to refuse or cancel any booking at its discretion, including where the Premises are considered unsafe or unsuitable for the Services to be carried out.

4. Customer Obligations

4.1 The Customer must ensure that:

a. The Premises are accessible at the agreed time and a responsible adult is present for the duration of the visit, unless otherwise agreed.

b. Electricity, water and adequate lighting are available for use by the Technician.

c. All valuable, fragile or easily damaged items are removed from the areas to be cleaned or clearly pointed out before work starts.

d. Any pets are safely secured away from the working area and equipment at all times.

4.2 The Customer must inform Carpet Cleaners Greenwich in advance of any known risks, such as loose carpets, damaged flooring, pre-existing stains, colour-run issues, defective wiring, or any other hazards.

4.3 The Customer is responsible for moving small and light furniture items, unless an additional service for furniture moving has been agreed. Heavy or delicate items, such as pianos, large display cabinets or electrical equipment, will not be moved by the Technician unless explicitly agreed and deemed safe.

5. Pricing and Quotations

5.1 Prices will normally be quoted based on the information provided by the Customer, including room sizes, type of fabric, and condition. Carpet Cleaners Greenwich reserves the right to amend the price if the information provided is inaccurate or the condition of items on arrival is materially different to that described.

5.2 Unless otherwise indicated, all prices are expressed in pounds sterling and are inclusive or exclusive of VAT as stated at the time of booking.

5.3 Any quotation, whether verbal or written, is an estimate only and may be adjusted after an on-site assessment by the Technician. The Customer will be informed of any change before work begins and may choose not to proceed if the revised price is not acceptable, subject to any applicable call-out fee.

6. Payments

6.1 Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due immediately on completion of the Services.

6.2 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich may accept various payment methods such as card payments or bank transfer, subject to availability at the time of service. The accepted methods will be confirmed during the booking process.

6.3 For commercial Customers or larger projects, Carpet Cleaners Greenwich may require a deposit or advance payment. Any such requirement will be communicated before confirming the booking.

6.4 Failure to make payment on the due date may result in late payment charges, interest, and recovery costs, and may lead to suspension of any further services until all outstanding sums are settled in full.

7. Cancellations, Rescheduling and Access

7.1 The Customer may cancel or reschedule a booking by providing notice in accordance with this clause. Notice must be given during normal business hours through the booking channel used.

7.2 If the Customer cancels or reschedules with at least 48 hours notice before the scheduled start time, no cancellation fee will normally apply.

7.3 If the Customer cancels or reschedules with less than 48 hours notice, or fails to provide access at the arranged time, Carpet Cleaners Greenwich reserves the right to charge a cancellation or call-out fee, which may be up to the full quoted service price.

7.4 In the event that Carpet Cleaners Greenwich needs to cancel or reschedule a booking due to circumstances beyond its control, such as staff illness, equipment failure, severe weather or access issues, reasonable efforts will be made to offer an alternative appointment. Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will not be liable for any indirect losses resulting from such changes.

8. Service Standards and Limitations

8.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will use reasonable care and skill in providing the Services. However, certain limitations apply:

a. Stain removal cannot be guaranteed. The success of stain treatment depends on the nature of the stain, the age of the stain, prior attempts at cleaning, and the type of fibre.

b. Shrinkage, colour fading or texture change may occur with some fabrics and carpets, especially where items were not colourfast or have pre-existing damage. The Customer accepts these risks where cleaning is requested.

c. Odour treatment reduces and helps neutralise smells but may not completely remove deeply embedded odours in all cases.

8.2 Drying times can vary depending on ventilation, temperature, humidity and fibre type. Any indicated drying time is an estimate only and not a guarantee.

8.3 The Technician may refuse to clean items considered unsuitable or unstable, such as severely damaged carpets or fabrics at risk of disintegration, where cleaning may cause further damage.

9. Complaints and Rectification

9.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich aims to resolve any issues promptly. If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of the Services, you must notify Carpet Cleaners Greenwich as soon as reasonably possible and, in any event, within 48 hours of the work being completed.

9.2 The Customer must allow Carpet Cleaners Greenwich a reasonable opportunity to inspect and, where appropriate, rectify any alleged deficiency. This may include a re-clean of the affected area. Refusal to allow such inspection or rectification may limit any further liability.

9.3 Any rectification provided will be in full and final settlement of the relevant complaint, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Liability

10.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will be liable for direct damage to property caused by the negligence of its Technicians, up to a reasonable amount reflecting the cost of repair or replacement, subject to the exclusions and limitations set out in this clause.

10.2 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will not be liable for:

a. Any pre-existing damage, wear, stains, fading, or defects in carpets, fabrics, or furnishings.

b. Damage arising from inaccurate or incomplete information supplied by the Customer, including failure to disclose known risks or material facts.

c. Loss of profit, loss of business, loss of opportunity, or any indirect or consequential loss.

d. Damage resulting from the Customer or any third party interfering with, or failing to follow, post-cleaning instructions, such as walking on damp carpets with dirty footwear or replacing furniture before full drying.

10.3 Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

11. Insurance

11.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich aims to maintain suitable public liability insurance and, where applicable, employer liability insurance in connection with the provision of the Services.

11.2 Evidence of insurance cover can be provided on reasonable request. Any claim which may give rise to a claim under such policy must be notified to Carpet Cleaners Greenwich as soon as reasonably practicable.

12. Waste Handling and Environmental Compliance

12.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich endeavours to operate in accordance with applicable waste management and environmental regulations. This includes the safe use, storage and disposal of cleaning solutions and waste products generated during the Services.

12.2 Standard domestic waste generated during cleaning at the Premises, such as vacuumed dust and debris from carpets, will normally be left in the Customer’s usual waste receptacles unless alternative arrangements are agreed.

12.3 Where additional waste removal is required, such as old carpets, underlay or large volumes of waste, this may incur extra charges and may require separate arrangements. Carpet Cleaners Greenwich does not typically provide a bulk waste removal service unless specifically agreed.

12.4 The Customer must not request or require the Technician to dispose of waste in any unlawful manner, including fly-tipping or disposal in unauthorised locations.

13. Health and Safety

13.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich takes health and safety seriously and may refuse to carry out or continue Services if the Premises or conditions present an unacceptable risk to Technicians or occupants.

13.2 The Customer agrees to follow any reasonable instructions given by the Technician in relation to safety during and after cleaning, including temporary restricted access to wet or treated areas.

13.3 Children and pets should be kept away from equipment and treated areas until it is safe to enter, particularly while machinery is in use or carpets and fabrics are drying.

14. Personal Data and Privacy

14.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will collect and process personal data such as names, addresses and contact details solely for the purpose of managing bookings, providing Services and handling payments, in accordance with applicable data protection laws.

14.2 Customer data will not be sold to third parties. It may be shared with subcontractors or payment processors where necessary for the performance of the Agreement.

15. Subcontracting

15.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich may use vetted subcontractors to perform some or all of the Services. In such cases, Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will remain responsible for the overall performance of the Agreement.

16. Force Majeure

16.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich will not be liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control. These events may include but are not limited to extreme weather, transport disruption, power failure, accidents, fire, flood, industrial disputes or public health emergencies.

17. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

17.1 Carpet Cleaners Greenwich reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The version in force at the time of your booking will apply to that booking.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

18.1 These Terms and Conditions and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

18.2 The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.

19. Severability

19.1 If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, that provision shall be deemed deleted and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

20.1 These Terms and Conditions, together with any booking confirmation, constitute the entire agreement between Carpet Cleaners Greenwich and the Customer and supersede any prior understandings, representations or agreements relating to the subject matter.
